
Elizabeth Jones

Elizabeth Jones is a Master of Public Policy student at Duke, specializing in Education Policy. Prior to attending Duke, Elizabeth was an educator for ten years in both Louisiana and North Carolina. She taught ESL, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades, and was an Instructional Coach. While teaching, Elizabeth saw firsthand how much support schools need from organizations like Rebound to create learning environments without harmful discipline practices. She is also a parent to two boys, ages 5 and 1.5.

Sydney Albert
Sydney Albert is a junior at Duke University studying psychology, education, and child policy. She is passionate about advocating for education equity and advancing equitable access to resources and opportunities as well as outcomes. Previously, she worked at Children Now, a child advocacy nonprofit based in California, recruiting community members to a coalition network prioritizing kids and learning about California children’s politics. At Duke, Sydney is also involved with Duke DevilThon, an organization that raises funds and awareness for the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, Duke Children’s Hospital, and with Jewish Life at Duke. She is excited to delve into research surrounding suspension policy in the local area and advocate for alternative disciplinary actions.
