Rebound has recently been awarded a generous expansion grant from the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. The funding from this grant will make our alternative to suspension program accessible to twice as many students by adding a second day program site. It will also provide funds to implement restorative practices, and conflict resolution, and extended programming hours to help prevent suspensions from occurring.
In order to ensure long term success of these new programs, Rebound has set a goal of securing $75,000 from the Durham community by June, 2018.
Suspension affects 10% of high school students, but school climate impacts 100% of our high school students. Please help our students and schools by investing in new ways to keep our students at school and focused on learning.
